With stunning scenery in every direction you will not know where to begin first.

  • Halkirk Hotel

Don’t feel like cooking, want to check out a really cool historic building? Jump in your vehicle and drive the 10 minutes into town to grab a bite to eat. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Halkirk Elks Bullarama

Feel like being surrounded by a great community and getting some entertainment? Check out the annual bullarama in Halkirk. Usually in August (check their facebook page for the date) this event is a lot of fun. Previous years have seen mini chuckwagons, kids activities, trick riders and of course the main attraction the roughstock.

  • Battle River

Anybody enjoy fishing? The Battle River boasts many species including Walleye, Northern Pike, Burbot and Goldeye. Use your boat, kayak or whatever you fancy. For those that are not into fishing why not enjoy the water floating, kayaking or on a paddleboard.

  • Big Knife Provincial Park

Situated along the Battleriver is a great provincial park. Big Knife has camping, day spots, playing area, hikes, and boat access to the river. A great stop for the whole family just 10 minutes away.

  • Diplomat Trout Pond

Because we are checking out all the area has to offer, take a quick drive from the river to Diplomat Trout Pond. There are a few non serviced camp sites, walking trails, a gazebo, bird watching, and flora and fauna to see. Any ice fishing fans? Check this spot out.
The pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout yearly!

  • Diplomat Mine Interpretive Site

This a great stop for not just the kids but the whole family. To see the coal mining equipment close up is just super cool. Words taken from a 6 year old boy. Enjoy the walking trails, a beautiful gazebo, cool machinery and a play area. Did we mention it’s right next to the trout pond? Within 10 minutes of the ranch you have so much more to explore.

  • Valley Ski Hill at Alliance
